We've been building web shooters and shipping them to fans for a while now, but we never had a proper place to share what's going on behind the scenes. That changes today — welcome to the WebHead Workshop blog.
This is where we'll be posting product launches, behind-the-scenes builds, tips, and updates straight from the workshop. If you want to know what we're working on before it hits the shop, this is the place.
What's Coming Next
We've got some exciting projects in the pipeline right now, and we wanted to give you a look at what's ahead.
Magnetic Prop Web Shooter — Spider-Man: Brand New Day
This one's been on our mind since the movie was announced. We're building a prop web shooter inspired by the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day film. The big feature here is N52 rare earth magnets — the strongest permanent magnets available — which will hold the pieces together for a clean, seamless look on the wrist.
We've got a batch of magnets arriving tomorrow. If they hold the way we expect, this model will be listed on Etsy shortly after, and we'll have a full YouTube video breaking down the design and showing it in action.
But we're not stopping at a display piece. The plan is to make a functional version as well — we're experimenting with a spring or rubber band mechanism to shoot darts, and we might even add a string element for a web effect. Prop or functional, your choice.
Perfume Bottle Mechanism — The Future of Functional Web Shooters
This is the project we're most excited about long-term. We're developing a new model that uses a small 3oz perfume bottle as the spray mechanism. Why? Because perfume bottles are tiny, reliable, and produce a fine mist — which means we can build web shooters that are much more accurate to what you see in the movies, comics, and TV shows.
If we can pull this off, it opens the door to hyper-accurate functional web shooters based on specific movie and comic designs — not just generic shapes, but shooters that actually look like the ones on screen and still work.
We're still in the prototyping phase on this one, but we'll be sharing updates here as it progresses.
Stay Tuned
This blog is going to be the best way to keep up with what's happening at WebHead Workshop. New products, build logs, tips for getting the most out of your web shooters, and the occasional behind-the-scenes look at what goes into designing and printing these things.
Thanks for being here. More posts coming soon.
